DKM Salon & Spa in Fairview Park is moving to a new space. The salon will be at the opening in its new location - 21724 Lorain Road, Suite 1 in the Fairview Medical Arts Building - in mid-September. 

DKM Salon & Spa offers services in haircutting, coloring and styling, makeup, body treatments, sugar hair removal, manscaping, facials and microdermabrasion. Salon owner Debra Knotts Meadows has received extensive training in body sugaring and has been a practitioner of the art for 12 years. She has been a certified instructor for eight years with two companies. She is currently instructing with Simply sugar ™ and regularly training other cosmetologists and estheticians to become certified practitioners. Some of her graduates have become spa entrepreneurs!

Sugaring is the application of an organic, 100% natural water-soluble paste to the skin at body temperature. Hair is removed in the direction of hair growth, allowing for extraction of lengths as short as 1/16 of an inch. Sugaring will not tear or burn the skin, and hair is removed in its entirety with little or no breakage. Clients have commented on how hair grows back slower, softer and lighter, so fewer treatments are needed over time, resulting in a cost reduction and savings for her guests. Debra has converted many of her clients from waxing!

While ladies typically request sugaring for the legs, arms, face, brows and bikini, men frequently ask for sugaring services or manscaping for the back, shoulders, ears, nose, or chest. Manscaping involves clippering body hair on men to achieve a desired length of hair on specific areas.

Debra credits much of her hair coloring expertise and creativity to the many years she has spent as an educator for several color manufacturers, Wella, Paul Mitchell, Iso, Italy and Jean Alexander, for whom she is still a certified color educator. DKM offers a variety of hair services with all types of techniques in cutting, coloring, straightening and hair extensions.
