Fairview Park Branch Library Happenings

March 5 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.   Come and enjoy the musical duo Strawberry Sunday. Avant-garde flutist Kimberly Zaleski and cellist Trevor Kazarian, classically trained musicians from Cleveland Institute of Music, will perform original songs of alternative rock, improvisatory jazz and classical form. Influenced by Cleveland Orchestra, Radiohead and The Beatles—a sweet and passionate blend of musical styles with jamming high energy and beat-boxing swing. March 9 at 7:00 p.m.   It's almost time to Wake Up Your Garden!  Master gardeners of Cuyahoga County will discuss the garden chores that need to be done before May.  This program includes clean-up, fertilization, pruning and planting of lawns, flower beds, trees, roses and vegetables.  Registration required. 

March 10 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.   Kick-off St. Patrick’s Day early with Tapped Out!, a local Irish duo, who will entertain with live Irish music.  Tapped Out! band members, Sarah Pap and John Cundiff, will perform with fiddle, bodhran, guitar, mandolin, whistle and harmonica.  Sponsored by the Friends of the Fairview Park Branch Library.  Registration required.

March 12 at 7:00 p.m.   Anne McEvoy of Women in History will re-enact Margaret “Molly” Brown, Titanic survivor and a woman who was determined to break the rules of high society.  Registration required.  

March 19 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.   Join a Career Counselor for this career workshop - Utilizing LinkedIn -aimed at current LinkedIn users who understand the basics and can navigate the site. This workshop will provide intermediate users of LinkedIn with more detailed information about their LinkedIn profiles and how to create a positive presence as a jobseeker.  Participants will also learn how to review and alter settings, utilize connections to network, join groups and more.  Spaces limited. Registration required.

March 26 at 7:00 p.m.   Meet Author Patricia Harman who will talk about her books, "The Midwife of Hope River" and its sequel "The Reluctant Midwife" to be released this spring. The books tell the story of a courageous nurse who reshapes her life during trying times.  In addition to her writing career, Ms. Harman has more than 30 years experience as a midwife and holds faculty positions at Case Western Reserve University and The Ohio State University. Registration required.

March 30 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.   Market your skills the 21st century way and build your brand - Brand U - by developing your online presence.  Learn how vlogs (video blogs) and YouTube videos can help you stand out from the crowd to market your unique talents, interests and experiences in a variety of ways.  Attendees must be age 18 or older. Spaces limited.
