Help Freshen Up Fairview Park

Freshen Up Fairview Park is a special event that brings together residents, community organizations, and businesses to beautify Fairview Park and make the community more attractive for themselves and for visitors. The members of the Fairview Park Green Team would like to encourage all residents and business owners to participate in a day devoted to continuing to make the City of Fairview Park a “Great Place to Grow”.

Freshen Up Fairview Park will be held on Saturday, April 26, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Volunteers willing to devote a few hours of their day to freshen up a city park or other designated area should meet at 9 a.m. at City Hall, 20777 Lorain Road.  Residents who opt not to take part in the project but still would like to contribute are encouraged to do so by sprucing up their own properties and neighborhoods.

Last year about 30 volunteers of all ages came out for the first Freshen Up Fairview Park day. They collected over 45 bags of trash, recyclables and yard waste from the city’s parks, cemetery and along the Lorain Road business corridor. The Green Team hopes to grow this event annually and to strengthen the sense of community in the city.

Supplies will be provided to volunteers based on donations from the Fairview Park Service Department, the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste Management District and local businesses.  One of this year's sponsors, Earth Fare, Inc., will provide volunteers with beverages and healthy snacks.  Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own refillable beverage containers and gloves.

If you have any questions or would like to find out how your group can participate, please contact greenteam@fairviewpark.org. You can also check out www.fairviewpark.org for more information.
