This month Northeast Ohio Personal Computers (NEOPC) welcomes Chip Halvorsen from Westlake Porter Public Library with his program on WiFi.

Chip will cover the basics of setting up a home WiFi network, which can allow you to connect various devices around your home wirelessly-- from PCs and printers to tablets and the new smart devices.

Chip Halvorsen is a system administrator and librarian at the Westlake Porter Public Library. He purchased his first home computer more than 20 years ago and has been helping friends and family with their technical troubleshooting ever since.

Refreshments will be served at 6:30 p.m., with the election of NEOPC officers preceding the program at 7:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. For additional information, go to www.neopc.org.

Alzheimer's Early Detection

The Fairview Park Branch Library of Cuyahoga County Public Library will host Alzheimer’s Early Detection on Tuesday, September 8, at 7:00 p.m. in the lower level meeting room.

A representative from the Alzheimer’s Association will present a workshop on the importance of early detection for Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. As 10 million baby boomers risk developing Alzheimer’s, early detection of the disease becomes critical to future planning. Knowing the warning signs of Alzheimer’s and getting diagnosed early is vital to receive the best help and care possible. Registration required.
